Buying a Home in the Spring? Hi. Mitchell Jones, Mitchell Home Sales, Coldwell Banker Realty. I’ve been asked before if it’s a good time to buy a home in the spring and I would say absolutely yes and here is why. Oftentimes homes don’t start hitting the market. Historically we start seeing greater inventory of homes ramping up toward the mid to latter part of spring and into early summer. So if someone’s looking to buy a home here in early spring late winter it might be a good time. The reason why is sellers might be in a greater position to negotiate at this point. Maybe their home has been sitting on the market for a while. Maybe they’re inclined to accept some type of credit at closing to help buy down a point.
